Writer’s Block Philippines, in cooperation with Enderun Colleges, is giving away a free slot to the upcoming writing workshop “Jumpstart Your Freelance Writing Career 3.0,” which is a two-day workshop that takes participants through the whys, whats, wheres, and hows of freelance writing. It is participant-focused, helping the budding writer find his (or her) writing voice to better identify and maximize available freelance writing opportunities. It also aims to equip the writer with the necessary tools and information to get started, as well as debunk myths that can get in the way of freelancing success.

• Date: February 5 & 12, 2011, 8am-4pm
• Venue: Enderun Colleges, Fort
• Course fee: P4,500 (inclusive of workshop kit with CD handout, certificate, lunch and snacks for two days)

Contest mechanics:

1. This contest is open to all Filipino citizens residing in the Philippines, 18 years old and above.

2. Write a 250-word essay about either of the following categories:

• How do you wish to jumpstart your freelance writing career?
• Describe a delicious culinary experience or your best food memory.

3. Send us your entry, along with your contact details (full name, date of birth, email address, mobile number). Email to writersblock.ph@gmail.com. Deadline of entries is on January 16, 11:59 pm (Philippine time, 8+ GMT)

4. Only valid entries will be considered for judging. Criteria for judging is:

Content – 40%
Writing style – 30%
Impact – 30%

5. The winner will be notified through email and will be announced in our website: www.writersblockphilippines.com. Announcement of winning entry will be on January 24, Monday. There will only be one (1) winner who will be given a certificate to attend the workshop for free. Prize is non-transferable and non-convertible to cash.
