“It covers all of the most important aspects of social media engagement: overview of social media in the Philippines, trends, engagement strategies, and measuring tools,” says Ana P. Santos, WBP Co-Founder and a journalist who focuses on women and gender issues. Santos is a regular columnist in Rappler and as the 2014 Persephone Miel Fellow for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, her work has been published in The Atlantic and The Washington Post.


“You shouldn’t miss this event, especially if you’re a social media manager managing or promoting your company brand, or an entrepreneur who wants to tap social media as a cost effective way to communicate your business,” says Nikka Sarthou-Lainez, the other half of WBP and a lifestyle writer who contributes for various online and print publications. The duo both left their respective careers to pursue their passion to become full-time freelance writers and put up Writer’s Block Philippines in 2010. Since then, they have continued to organize writing workshops and other similar events.


The workshop features guest speakers who are considered experts in the industry: Jason Cruz, Dante Gagelonia, and Rocel Ann G. Junio. Cruz is the Business Lead Director for Social Products, New Business, and Strategy for MRM/McCann Manila, and is also a lecturer at the IIDM Certified Digital Marketer program. Gagelonia is a communications consultant and project manager who has worked with the Probe Media Foundation, among others. And Junio is a communications consultant and digital strategist with almost 10 years of experience in multimedia publishing, project management, creative direction, and digital marketing.
