As much of day to day business communication is written in emails, reports, and memos, today’s globalized business world demands that employees have the ability to communicate in clear and concise English.
However, speaking in English requires a different skill from writing clearly in English.
Effective business writing that is brief, concise, and grammatically correct, is a trademark of a company’s professional image and avoids misunderstandings that can impact business revenue and operations.
Writer’s Block Philippines, an organization dedicated to empowering writers, communicators, and creative entrepreneurs, will be hosting “The Basics of Business Writing”, a practical workshop that serves as an introduction to the basics of corporate communications and will cover strategies for writing emails and reports quickly, correctly, and professionally.
Carlo Figueroa will be the guest facilitator of the workshop. Figueroa has more than 15 years of dynamic and professional experience as a communications executive, public affairs professional, and a media practitioner, managing organizational relations with the press, government agencies, civil society, and other business stakeholders.
He is an assistant professorial lecturer at the Department of Communication of De La Salle University-Manila, teaching public relations, writing for multimedia, political communication, campaign strategies and issue management.
The half-day workshop will include developing a writing strategy to make your corporate text more targeted, persuasive, and effective, as well writing exercises and grammar drills to give you a comprehensive brush-up on corporate writing.
